As Public Advocate, I will continue to be pro-choice and support equal pay for equal work. But there is more we can do to support women in this city.
We need to tailor our regulations to provide for and encourage flexible work arrangements so parents can have more choice and control in balancing work and family. We need to make sure that childcare, medical care, and other services are not made needlessly expensive. We need to provide more bottom-up solutions based on people’s preferences, not government’s.
